The Diner

  The Diner on South Broadway in Tyler is another new restaurant to pop up in Tyler. It has an updated diner type atmosphere and your normal diner menu. On the menu for me that day was the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn. The steak itself was not bad. It was cooked well and had good flavor. i thought the mashed potatoes were average and the gravy really did not taste right to me. It is hard to describe what was wrong with it but it tasted a little sour to me. There was only a few other tables that were full so we thought it would have been a little faster to get our food but we waited about 30 minutes to get our meals. With the few people that were in the diner we didn't expect it to take that long. Overall the atmosphere is very good. It brings back that "diner" type feel with some updated decor but we were not impressed with our meals. Maybe we will head back and try breakfast sometime and hope The Diner can redeem itself.
